Speaker 1:

All right, welcome back to Uncommon Advice. I'm excited about today's podcast. I'm jumping into 19 free lead generating strategies that you can leverage today. Okay, so a lot of people, when they're growing their list, they're growing their email list, they're growing their newsletter, they ask for ways to do that that don't cost any money. So I'm gonna get into 19 different ways today. So tune in, pay attention and, most importantly, execute on the ones that you like as we go through, the ones that, as I talk to them, we feel like, ooh, great idea, I need to do that, write that down and then from there you can go out there and execute on it and start growing your list even bigger, growing your audience even bigger and then generating even more internet money. So, with that said, real quick update too. I can't wait. We are about 15 days and counting from moving into the new home we're building. If you've been following me online, you see some of the stuff I'm posting and my stories and stuff. So I've been working on this house. I'm super excited about it and it's been a two year project, two years coming to get into this home and hopefully, by the time you hear the next podcast, we're in that house and we'll probably actually start shooting some of them from the home itself as well, so excited about that.

Speaker 1:

Now number one 19 free lead strategies. Number one off the top off the rip is lead magnets. Lead magnets are a great way to create an opt-in page for people that wants to give somebody something of value in exchange for their email address. Now lead magnets can be a. It literally can be a one-page checklist. It can be a video that you recorded. It could be a summary of what's going on in the markets that you're in. So there's a lot of different little simple things that you can do to give away that people will actually happily subscribe to get. I just make it relevant to the content that you're going to be sending to them, obviously, right. So that is is one opportunity. I've done things as we've got our lead magnet for the one-step funnel. I've created lead magnets for what we call our fireside chat PDF, which is a one page PDF where it allows you to. It allows you to kind of create your content strategy. We've also done stuff in the real estate space where we've done free reports on, you know, wholesaling houses. We've done a stuff in the real estate space where we've done free reports on wholesaling houses. We've done a lot of different things that do make sense. That made sense for the audience that we were growing. So just think through it, and I guarantee there's something you probably already have in your arsenal that you can give away in exchange for an email subscriber so a lead magnet.

Speaker 1:

Now the key is, though just building the lead magnet doesn't mean the leads will come. You have to go post it online. You got to put it into your social accounts and kind of make sure like people understand that you do have that as an offer. So it's a great opportunity to get you know kind of an exchange. Instead of just saying, hey, subscribe to my newsletter, you say hey, by the way, uh, one way that we've actually done this really well if you are, uh, follow me on Facebook, you'll see I've made a post actually, uh, not that long ago about a thousand how to generate a thousand leads a day, and a thousand leads a day like clockwork right, and I broke down. I was doing a quick little live video on it, and what I did with that lead magnet is I basically asked a comment if you want the information. So it's a good old organic two-step strategy that I used and I sent people the lead magnet and the opt-in page to get on the live and we generated about a hundred, some subscribers just from that one simple post. So you can do the exact same thing as you're growing your audience right. It's a little bit more manual process, but it's a great way to get free leads into your system.

Speaker 1:

So, social content and CTA. So on your social content you can have the call to action for people to subscribe to either your lead magnet so this is number two is put the social content and CTA. Put the CTAs in your social content. What you can do with the CTAs in your social content is put them inside of your bio. You can put them inside of your following up, inside your newsletter and say share this and then people can do that right. So the CTAs are super important If people don't know you have stuff, they don't know that even subscribe. So inside of your social content and say you create a video, you can say hey, by the way, click the link in my bio to subscribe to my newsletter, right? So there's different things that you can do to drive the lead. So the people you have to build awareness so people understand that you've got it. And if you build awareness that you've got it, then they will subscribe and go from there.

Speaker 1:

Now, another great way is you can leverage a tool there's a couple of them out there to new follows. You can auto DM them. So if you have a comment, let's say on IG, you say, hey, dm me, x, dm me newsletter, and I'll drop you a free video, right? So what will happen? There is, when they DM you, you automatically can use a tool. Well, first off, you can manually do this. As it becomes a larger task as your audience grows, you can then turn around and use the tool to automate it. That will drop them the actual link for them to subscribe, to get onto that lead magnet and or your newsletter that you put in there for them to do as a call to action. Now another thing you can do is actually comment back to those people. If someone comments onto your content piece, shoot them a message, even outbound, just saying hey, notice, you liked our piece. By the way, I've got this free. You know this free report on X. Would you like me to send it over? Yeah or nay, right, and that's another way. So this manual process, but a way to get leads into your system very successfully.

Speaker 1:

The next thing is hang out in the comments section of other active audiences that you want to be a part of. Now don't go hang out and be that lame individual who's sitting there saying, follow me and click on my link and don't start spamming. Just go give value. So if you do the second thing, where you put the CTAs in your social side and your social accounts, if you go in and provide value in the comments of other people, people will start clicking on you and going, well, who's this person? That was pretty smart. They click on it, they go over, they see your offer in the CTA and your social. They click on there and then they subscribe. So it is a way for you to engage, to grow your following, but also grow your subscriber base. So just once again can't stress enough don't be lazy, don't be the person that just pops in and says here's my link, buy my stuff right? Don't do that, not cool. So add on.

Speaker 1:

And then from here is I talked about on the social content, but add on to all your digital assets. So when you on your website say you got a website, a great place to put this is to add a subscription link or subscription page, subscribe page to your website so people can actually subscribe to whatever it is you have. Now. Another cool thing you can have on your website is there's tools where you can create a little pop-up. So let's say you have a content piece that you drive people to your website and then boom, they're on the website and it pops up and it gives them a free. It's OptinMonster is one that you can use, and OptinMonster you can create an opt-in page that makes an offer to people and shows them to on specific. But it's a great opportunity for you to drive, to pull those organic leads on your website into your actual newsletter.

Speaker 1:

And then cold email another good one here. Cold email, all your warm contacts. So you might have a lot of contacts in your phone and business contacts that you know your information and value will help them. Shoot them a simple email. Hey, I just launched this newsletter. I just launched this new report. I thought it might be helpful to you. Here it is, if you want it, right and just be cool. Don't hit them up and try and sell them on doing Just be cool, because they're contacts, they're warm contacts, they're friends, they know you, chances are they're going to say, all right, cool man, I appreciate this, I appreciate it, love the report, hey, appreciate it, love the newsletter. Well, they're not going to subscribe but either way, most likely you're going to get some that will, and it's just a way to. It's kind of got that. You know the cool factor of you know saying, hey, check this out, I thought you, I thought it'd benefit you, so I wanted to shoot it over. So now you're doing them solid, doing something good and being able to grow your subscriber base. Now here's another one you can use which is a reward program. So you can put, let's say, you got your subscriber base already, you're emailing consistently for your newsletter and you can put a reward program in there that says, hey, refer one subscriber and I'll give you this free report. Refer one subscriber, I'll give you X. So these programs, if you use the tool Beehive, it automatically is inside of there, super easy to use, but that helps you grow through, give value to your subscribers. Those subscribers wanna share and invite people in to actually get the reward right. So that's one great way to do it as well.

Speaker 1:

Now the next way let's get into this is cross promotions. So we've done this where we've gone to other people. I want to talk a couple of different ways that you can do cross promotions, and number one is you can go to somebody that has a similar size list as you maybe even got a little bit bigger one and you say hey look, do you want to swap emails into our different accounts? So we do this with some of our partners where we'll just say, hey look, I'll send your newsletter out, I'll send a link to your newsletter, you send a link to mine, and we ideally generate the same amount of new subscribers for each other. And now we got fresh eyeballs into our, into our, subscriber base. The thing is, in the newsletters people will read more than one at any given time anyways. So you have the ability to find these strategic partners to be able to do some of these cross promotions. Now, that's a free cross promotion. Hey, I'll send an email for you, you send an email for me. Awesome, let's go right. So great opportunity for you to grow.

Speaker 1:

Now another kind of well, another strategy that will expand upon that is a partner giveaways. So you guys, you could go get to like three partners and say let's build a landing page, y'all give away something free on that landing page and then maybe the winner gets like a free iPhone, right. So you guys, so technically you're not free, but if you give away an iPhone, you guys got to split the cost of the iPhone, give it away. But what you guys do is drive to that page for this free giveaway and then from there you have the ability to drive them all to one subscribe page. All three partners drive, you guys generate as many subscribers as possible and each individual gets a copy of that page, of that lead. So the way that we've done this in the past, we've even done this for paid traffic strategies. So we would take us and two other partners. We'd each give away a free report and then from that free report we would drive leads into that and each person would get an email from us with the deliverable, with the free report or PDF, whatever we promised in the actual landing page that showed all three offers. We'd shoot that out to them and now we each get a copy of the lead and we can follow up and go from there. So you can also get into a paid marketing strategy down the road with something similar with the partner giveaway too, which is a great way to see exponential growth.

Speaker 1:

Now you can also be a podcast guest. We like to do some podcast interviews every once in a great while on this one, right? So you can be a podcast guest on different podcasts and just show up, give value. I know it was two years ago. I actually invested on being on a couple of podcasts and did a bunch of traveling to do it, because to me it was I just wanted to show up and show out with content, right? So I wanted to give value on these podcasts that already had larger audiences, to be able to grow my audience and get more recognition and more awareness not recognition, but more awareness on what we were launching out two years ago and so, which happened to be more talking more about the newsletter space and email marketing and now getting into the SMS front and helping customers make more money with their current database basically, right. So I wanted to get that messaging out and my story out on how we kind of evolved to get there. So that's another great way for you to do that Go get on some podcasts and deliver great information.

Speaker 1:

You can also guest post. You can guest post on newsletters If you got a very valuable content piece and that is great for entrepreneurs, marketers and creators and info like info marketers send it to me and you say hey, nate, I got this content piece. I would like to contribute this to your newsletter. I'm open to that. I'll happy include you into our content roundup and get you know, help you, you're one. You're doing me a solid, you're doing me a favor. You're actually giving me content to make my life easier inside my newsletter and then I'm able to put it on the newsletter, provide value to my customers and my subscribers and then it gets you some exposure and awareness as well. So guest posts provide value to other people, because content can be a challenge sometimes for people.

Speaker 1:

Now you, now you can also go into engagement groups and relationships. So on the social front, you can connect with a group of people and you can create engagement and a relationship with a group of people and create engagement for post. And let's just say that you post on social media. Or let's say, you go post on LinkedIn and you'll see this on LinkedIn on some places where all of a sudden, some very people, like a bunch of people, will start commenting and posting on it as soon as it hits, and then what happens is you basically have this group, let's say, 10 people, maybe it's five, maybe it's three, it doesn't really matter. But just get started. And when you post your piece, they comment and share it. And when they post their piece, you comment and share it. And now you're hitting their audience, they're hitting your audience and you're kind of still growing yours, they're growing theirs and it becomes a value-driven. I'm going to help you, you help me. It's the old school mindset Scratch your back, I'll scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Right? So it gives you that opportunity in these groups, as you create them, to help grow your audiences together. All what is that? All you know, all tides raise, all ships, whatever, whatever. I screwed that up, butchered it, but you get my point.

Speaker 1:

So next thing is content, syndication and distribution. So you could take your content and push it out on a bunch of different platforms and start driving people back. Maybe you don't, maybe you will only focus on Twitter right now. Well, you can take that content and now move it over to multiple different platforms to build other audiences and in turn, as long as you got your CTAs in the in the bios, you have that ability to pick up those subscribers from there as well. So when you start syndicating your content into multiple platforms, it gives you an opportunity to reach more of an audience and then drive more free subscribers. So now connecting online communities so you can pop into Facebook groups that have your relevant audiences and online people that have created these online communities. School's got a bunch of different online communities. You can pop in, but don't.

Speaker 1:

Once again, it's kind of being in the comments of somebody else's valuable posts. You don't want to be in there. You know being slimy and commenting a bunch of different pieces and you know, follow me. Here's my newsletter, buy my stuff. Don't be doing that. Get into the comments, into groups that have your audience, provide value and from that value they will follow you. If you've got the CTA in your audience, they will subscribe. So it's it's a. You know you're earning trust and value by doing that.

Speaker 1:

Now the next thing is there's two kinds. Next one is Reddit. Reddit's a massive platform with a lot of different subreddits on it. You can go find audiences over there as well that you can communicate with and drive people back into your newsletter and your audience. Another great one is Quora. Quora is another great opportunity, very similar. You can go answer questions that people have and give value right. Answer questions that people have and give value right. So Reddit and Quora a lot of people have started leveraging these strategies. They may or may not work as well as they used to, but they are still opportunities and they still do work that you can leverage right now.

Speaker 1:

So number 18, we're getting close, we're getting close to the end here. 18 is repurpose your newsletter content into SEO articles. So there's some tools that we're getting ready to launch, a tool to help actually with this, and the tool itself will take the content piece, spin it up, make sure it's SEO friendly, push it out onto your website and now what's happening is you're creating content on your site. This works in a couple of different ways. Is, now that it's on your site, it becomes evergreen. Now, when people see you and let's just say, they click over to subscribe and they decide I don't want to subscribe right now, but then you've got some articles and some value and some content, they can go read that stuff. And when they read that stuff and then you have some embedded opt-in forms inside of there your pop-up stuff from OptinMonster people will subscribe at that point. So, being able to take your newsletter content and put it onto your own, turning into articles on your site. Now it's a long-term strategy for that, but it becomes very valuable as you build this asset up. So just want to throw that out there. It's another great way.

Speaker 1:

But number 19,. Right here, number 19. And I kind of alluded to this one earlier on the two-step. But you can do virtual events and webinars. So you can literally do a webinar and a training. So a lot of coaches, consultants, product owners they're looking for people who can just deliver great value to their audience. So you can come in and deliver a non-sales presentation, but just a value-driven webinar to their people. That's going to give them tactics and tools and tips to improve their business or improve whatever it is they're trying to improve, and you can do it that way through a virtual event. They can help drive people into it. You can get a copy of the lead. So that's one way. Or you can just promote the event yourself and promote your own along the way and people will subscribe. So somebody who will down a lead, someone who will subscribe to a lead magnet, may not subscribe to a virtual event. Someone who subscribes to a virtual event may not subscribe to a lead magnet.

Speaker 1:

So number 19, right here, is a great way for you to actually drive and build rapport. So think about it. They subscribe, you show up and you deliver value and then now you've built that relationship and now all of a sudden, they start sharing that information and reporting and bringing people back. And then they get on your newsletter and they see your reward opportunity. You know what they're like.

Speaker 1:

Hey man, nate was super cool getting that. You know, a thousand leads a day like clockwork. Live for free and not asking for anything. I do. You know this is something I could share with somebody. This is pretty cool, right? So if you do those types of things, it's going to grow your list. So that was 19 free lead generating strategies for your newsletter that you can leverage. So get out there, execute on those and leverage them and keep me posted on how it works for you. Matter of fact, do me, do me one solid here and like, comment or share on this podcast. It brings, obviously, it builds, awareness, because your friends see that you liked and commented. If you share it, they see it, right, I'd love more listeners, right? So please, please, do that as well, as if you got any questions, as you know, comment below and I'll always get to them. So appreciate your time, thank you.
